V-Empower, Inc. has been conceptualizing, designing, developing and maintaining cutting edge technology for about a decade for citizens in the US and India. In the US, we built the 1st ever application that allowed citizens to contact lawmakers at the federal and state levels (www.statedemocracy.org). In India, we built the 1st every application that allowed citizens to contact their parliamentarians (www.indiademocracy.com). This second application was launched in November 2001 by the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. N. Chandra Babu Naidu. It was revised and re-launched in April 2008 by the then Governor of Haryana, Mr. A.R.Kidwai. In 2003, V-Empower launched www.jantaraj.com as a platform for smaller groups/NGO’s/public interest groups to be able to lobby at the National level. It did not gain much popularity until 2009, when V-Empower built and deployed a Voter Registration application for the National Election on www.Jantaraj.com. More than 500,000 people visited prior to the elections. In 2010 and 2011, we temporarily closed the site to focus on other projects. Now, we see a tremendous opportunity to revamp and re-launch www.jantaraj.com with the LokPal Bill. In the past 12 hours, 4 current and former employees of V-Empower worked on revising and repurposing the application on www.jantaraj.com for the LokPal Bill. We are now proud to provide this platform to those individuals who are not able to participate personally in this campaign/movement/dialogue and avail technology to have their voices heard.
